    The Bare Road in Malibu
A mellow day in California. The Honeys hit the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu´s sun-drenched beachside hills. They are skating down the undulating landscape. Clicking sounds on the street. The wheels clash with the rough sidewalk. Hannah Wang, Karen Masumoto and Monica Medellin. These three women form the “Gnar Gnar Honeys” collectively made up of directors, filmmakers, photographers and creatives.
  • HOLLY AT HOME

For a long time now we have crushed on Holly McCauley’s down to earth, effortless style. Recently she has become a young mum to her beautiful daughter Della. We decided to catch up with her at home in Bangalow, to ask her a few questions about what has brought her to where she is today.

If you don’t know Bliss Kaufmann yet, you should.

One of our favourite souls to work with, her up and coming talented eye for creative detail and vivid capture of life imitating art has us slightly mesmerized every time.

On our recent trip to the United States we had the privilege of travelling with her into the California desert of Palm Springs where she took control of our vibrant Resort range, coming later this year.

We recently asked her a few questions to better understand her story and perspective.

  • Tokyo Encounter

We’ve had a hot summer here in Byron Bay, so we jumped at the chance to spend some time in cooler pastures, and went and explored Tokyo for a week in mid-March, just as the Cherry Blossom trees were starting to come into bloom. What a delight!

Japan is super cool. We spent our days wondering from shop to shop, eating sushi and sashimi, drinking sake, finding lots of vintage to buy and just having our minds blown by some of the weird and wonderful things Tokyo has to offer.

The truth is we have always had a style crush on mother – daughter duo of Kit Bettison and Marg Scholley. Their eclectic, unique style is as wonderful as it is colourful. You will not be disappointed flicking through their portfolio.

From interiors, events and renovations – this dynamic pair will do any space justice. Recently we sat down with both parts of the Alida & Miller team – and asked them a few things we were dying to know.

  • A NIGHT TO REMEMBER - in Byron Bay

    Posted on

It’s nearly been three years since we opened our doors as The Bare Road in our hometown of Byron Bay.

In that time a lot has changed but our team has stayed the same as we slowly expand and extend those opportunities to eager young local Byron Bay talent. Last week we chose to celebrate the reopening of our revamped showroom by treating some of our genuine fans to a night of jazz, delicious food and refreshing cocktails.

It’s always exciting when an email from stylist Molly King lands in your inbox. Known on the grapevine and Instagram as Foxy Zingaro, this Queensland born now Sydney based fashion entrepreneur has founded herself naturally in the industry. Her effortless matching of pieces is always a subtle but striking masterpiece. This would be the second time we would work with Molly.

Deep in the Indonesian jungle you can find the remote Balinese village of Jasri - a striking black sand beach with a generally deserted right hand point break tucked away in a pocket. Located in the east bordering with other famous beaches such as Virgin beach with its white sandy shoreline. Though the coast is rocky, the beauty is unimaginable until you see it.

Every new year we start a fresh with the promos of a clean slate.
2015 was an eventful year for the birth of THE BARE ROAD. It was a treeless labour of love that brought our baby to life and take on the world.
With many due thanks to our friends and family for their endless support along the way, which was not without a challenge or two. At this time of year we tend to reflect on what defined us for the year and setting intention for the one after. This past year we are proud of some of achievements - having set out with ambition to kick goals . Some were missed and some were gained!
